Monica Masson, PT

Physical Therapist, Manager of Herndon Clinic

Experience

My name is Monica Masson and I have been a Physical Therapist since 1998 and have been lucky enough to experience diverse career opportunities throughout my journey. Beginning with sports medicine and orthopedics, I got the opportunity to work with public safety personnel. This led me to my passion for Industrial Rehabilitation which I have been involved with for more than 10 years. I am certified in Functional Capacity Evaluation, Work Hardening/Work Conditioning programs, IME, Ergonomic assessment, Physical Demand Analysis, and Employment testing.

I have had extensive training in manual therapy using various methods including joint mobilization, Rock tape, myofascial release of restricted fascia and tissue, passive stretching, and other hands-on approaches. I strongly believe in balancing the body and integrating the whole system to improve one’s function and overall well-being.

Philosophy

If my first passion is helping individuals feel better, my second passion is teaching. I spend a lot of time helping others understand their bodies, why they have dysfunction or pain, and educating them in self-help strategies throughout their day. Through education, individuals can make progress when they understand what daily activities are helpful or harmful. I feel so grateful to all my patients for trusting me to walk with them on their journey.

About

I have been married for 21 years and we have two children, ages 20 and 13. As a family, we are huge cricket enthusiasts. I also coach high school athletes to help improve their basketball and soccer game. Working as a HOA President of my 500-home community helps me give back to the community. I also dance, garden, and paint regularly.
